Great news for FSU Credit Union Visa check card
users!
You already know that using your FSUCU check card is a
convenient and secure way to pay for your purchases, now, with the changes
outlined below, we hope that you find ever more reason to use your card daily.
Added Security
- Each person on the account will have their own card number and individual
personal identification number (PIN). If one card is lost or stolen, it can be
blocked while the other card on the account remains activated
- If there is more than one person on your checking account, the second
person will be receiving a new card and PIN within the month.
- Fraud security will be increased giving you more protection on both PIN
and signature transactions.
- Visa’s Zero Liability Policy* protects you from unauthorized
charges
- Fraud Monitoring detects and prevents suspicious activity on your debit
card.
- Identity Theft Assistance helps you recover your identity and prevent
further problems.
- 3-Digit Security Code on the back of your card verifies your identity
for Internet and phone purchases.
- Verified by Visa: Offers additional password protection at select
merchants to help make sure you’re the only one who can use your card online.
- Due to the changes in our check card program, cardholders will need to
re-enroll. Enroll at the point of purchase online or follow the link above.
More Convenient
- Choose your own PIN and change it over the phone when needed (maximum of
one time per day).
- Keep track of your transactions online. You will now be able to see
outstanding authorizations (signature based) online via FSUCU’s personalbranch
credit union (PCU).
- A hold will now be placed on the money in your checking account for the
full amount of the transaction. FSU Credit Union staff will be able to see
the hold on our system and assist you with any questions regarding the
transaction.
Visa Rule Change
- Visa now allows merchants to route debit transactions through a PIN
network even without a PIN being used.
- Transactions processed in this manner do not carry the benefit of Visa’s
Security Program.
*Covers U.S.-issued check cards only. Does not apply to ATM
transactions or PIN transactions not processed by Visa. Individual provisional
credit amounts are provided on a provisional basis and may be withheld, delayed,
limited, or rescinded by your issuer based on factors such as gross negligence
or fraud, delay in reporting unauthorized use, investigation and verification of
claim and account standing and history. You must notify your financial
institution immediately of any unauthorized use. Transaction at issue must be
posted to your account before provisional credit may be issued. For specific
restrictions, limitations and other details, please consult your issuer.
